Ha?? Me watching Asia TV series?? Yes. Jarang² kan?? Memang... Dengan kata laen, film ini pasti bagus sekali. Jadi ayo yang belom nonton, silahkan loh jeung....

Anyway, looking back to my life, how many good chance I've left behind?? I think it's a lot. Some of them are regarding work experience and carrier opportunity, some of them are regarding my love life and most of them are regarding my relationship with my family... I think I've lost so many chances to cherish my family....

Ugh... miss them a lot!!

2012 Movie Review

A review about the spectacular movie = 2012.
Me and Russel tried to get Friday's tickets, but all were sold out. So as we went to Plaza Singapore, we popped up @ The Cathay to get the next day's tickets. Very sure, this is one of some Ronald Emmerich's movie.

This time Ronald Emmerich and co-writer Harald Kloser use the Mayan calendar and other end-of-days prophecies for their doomsday scenario, which imagines the world coming to an end in 2012. What can I say about this film?? My boyfriend said it's something like "The Day After Tomorrow" (by Emmerich as well). For me, it's a mixed up from "Poseidon", "Independence Day" and may be a bit of the Bible story Noah's Arc. The movie follows the fate of a dozen characters as they fall victim to a series of calamities brought on by some kind of solar meltdown. The issue is not so much what caused the cataclysm but how humanity will respond to the crisis.

Cinematography, production design and visual effects are awards-worthy. Music also propels the movie, with "American Idol" runner-up Adam Lambert providing a rousing anthem over the end credits. This is a wildly over the top anthology of disaster pictures old and new, and Emmerich isn't above recycling other people's ideas. But it's enjoyable and the opening CGI thrill-ride through the collapsing streets of Los Angeles is undeniably good.

For much of the running time (about 150 minutes), the film is almost leisurely, and it's an oddly relaxing experience. Yes, the film kinda more or less avoids dealing with the whole 'everyone on earth is going to die' plot thread *LOL*, but we've got Deep Impact for that.

Julie and Julia

Kmrn hari sabtu abis nonton "Julie & Julia". What a movie!! Film yang sangat menghibur buat gw, secara garis besar karena it consists two things that I love = cooking & blogging. Not sure the guys would enjoy the film as much, unless they are foodies. Anyway, the film was very well made and bounced from past to present and back seamlessly. It had love, drama, comedy, history, and FOOD, FOOD, FOOD. Ah.... jadi pengen bisa masak. Gw belajar beberapa hal dari film ini:

1. There's no such thing called "too much butter". Jadi ibu² yang (seperti gw) ga bisa masak, pokoknya kalo menggoreng2, taro aja butter yang banyak. Ga usah takut.
2. Pat the meat dry in advance of browing it. Belom pernah denger ini... ntar dicoba ah!!
3. Cara poaching an egg supaya jadinya as beautiful as me, hihihi(^.^). Anyway, caranya adalah... the egg have to be VERY VERY fresh, gitu katanya. With an emphasize on the "very". Terus, airnya dicampur sama a bit of vinegar (katanya supaya telurnya bersatuuuu). Rebus air sampe ada little bubbles di dasar panci, baru masukin telornya. Diemin selama 4 menit... Baru angkat.

My Sister's Keeper

I've read three Jodi Picoult's book and My Sister's Keeper is my favourite, definetely. Its about 13-year old Anna Fitzgerald questions her existence because she was brought to the world (concieved through IVF) for only one purpose: to keep her older sister, Kate, alive.

Although she loves her sister dearly, Anna also wants complete independence and ownership of her body. The book begins when she makes a decision that rattles her already quite dysfunctional family: she hires a lawyer to get medical emancipation from her family.

I like how this book has a very morally controversial topic. On first overview, it seems completely wrong (i still believe it is) to have a child for the wrong reasons. Or have a child just to save another one. If it’s just a one-off thing, sure it is justifiable. But to bound a child throughout her life to just being another child’s sustainance is just unfair.

And YES they're making the movie!!! And guess who will play as Kate Firtzgerald, its one of my favourite actresses as well Dakota Fanning. Coming soon on the 26th of June 2009 (US). Maybe will come to singapore about 2 weeks later. Cant wait!!

Disappointingly sad that based on this source, it's just because she's not prepared enough to shave her head bold. Thanks for kang Setip for telling me this :)

Slumdog Millionaire

It was started with my boyfriend's comment "Ha?? Bollywood movie??". But then we found out that this is not a Bollywood made movie. Made by UK's company and was on it's way on getting the oscar awards.

The love story, seen by many to be central to the film, is sorely lacking. It’s the kind of shallow love story that plagues many Hollywood films. And the key problem goes back to the lead actors’ performances. Great Bollywood players are not naturalistic by any means, they are exaggerated, playful, and incredibly charismatic. It seems like Boyle couldn’t decide which way he wanted Patel and Pinto to play it.



Well, but, I found it a good movie though. No regret. And they deserve the oscars that they got last Monday =) Dont look down, people!!

Oh, and I love the little Jamal. His acting was sooooo extremely entertaining!! And I love this quotes, "Money and women. The reasons for make most mistakes in life. Looks like you've mixed up both", LOL*

Perang Itu Tidak Perlu

Kemaren abis nonton Red Cliff 2. Film yg sangat menarik. Bagus sekali. Dan membuat saya jadi sedikit bertanya-tanya, saya itu keturunan yg mana yah? Sebagai Indonesian-Chinese yg cuma tau kalo saya keturunan Hokkien, kayanya almost impossible buat cari tau saya itu keturunannya si Caocao atau cucunya si ganteng takeshi kaneshiro (nama dia di film itu siapa ya? Lupa...)

Satu hal yg sangat menarik, dan membuat saya berpikir panjang, adalah ternyata perang bener2 sesuatu yang kejam. Kejam banget. Banyak bgt yang harus mengorbankan nyawanya, dan merelakan mereka yang disayangi untuk pergi berperang. Ada satu adegan, dimana jendralnya tanya, "Kalian udah tulis surat buat orang rumah belom?". Terus mereka keluarin surat masing2, dan ramai2 mereka buang suratnya. Kayanya, hasil intrepetasi pribadi, itu tandanya mereka mau bilang, "Kita ga butuh surat ini, karena kita pasti menang, pulang, dan bisa ketemu keluarga".

Mengingatkan saya akan perang yg lagi berlangsung di jalur Gaza antara Israel dan Palestina. Kenapa sih, kita semua ga bisa bahagia dengan apa yg kita punya sekarang. Hidup penuh syukur di lahan yg kita punya, lahan yg jadi hak kita, dan ga usah berusaha merebut dan berusaha menambah punya masing2. I know, Israel & Palestina sama2 merasa Gaza adalah punya mereka. Kenapa mereka ga bisa puas dengan daerah mereka, dan dengan berbesar hati dua negara itu sumbangin jalur Gaza untuk kepentingan dunia? Banyak hal yg lebih penting untuk dipikirin sekarang ini. Global Warming misalnya?

Step Up 2

Yah..... film yang tidak ada ceritanya, cuma liatin dance-dance aja dari awal sampe abis. Kali ini dance-nya hip hop & R&B, beda sama step up 1. Lebih ke street dance.
I enjoyed it... Hohohoho^^ Tapi buat yg tidak suka menari dan tari2an, tidak disarankan menonton film ini.

Ah Long Pte. Ltd.

Ah sudah lama ga nulissss.... Nonton di GV Plaza singapore, 15 Feb 2008, 20.55, seperti biasa sama Okky, teman se-ketertarikan dalam hal film2 bodoh dan aneh.

Ah Long Pte. Ltd adalah.... film lokalnya Singapore, hahahahah^^ Mati deh ini film... Sampe ga tau mau ngomong apa.

Karena gw sama okky sama2 ga bisa bahasa mandarin (at all!!!), jadi kira2 30mnt pertama, orang2 di sekitar kami udah ketawwa2 gitu. Apalagi bapak2 di depan gw sama okky, gila ketawanya kenceng banget. Sementara gw sama okky..... Bengong aja. Kayanya sih itu becandaan khas singaporean. Jadilah gw gak ngerti. Menurut gw gak lucu.

Tapi abis ituuuuuuuuuuuu................ Gila ini film lucu abis!!! Konyol bgt!!!! Gila loch...
Ya seperti XL juga, film ini sangat ga bermakna dan sangat ga ada pesan moral. Cuma lucu2an, konyol2an. Menghibur sih... Film yg sangat ringan dan menghibur. Apalagi buat org yg lagi bad mood, kaya gw pada wkt itu (Sorry, okky!!!) dan males mikir.

Ceritanya.... ttg suami-istri, ceweknya ketua mafia kota, cowoknya guru dance bencong abissss. Bahkan untuk ngajak kawin aja si ceweknya ini sampe kirim tukang pukul, terror, sampe di-torture cowoknya, supaya dia mau merit sama si cewek gahar namun cantik ini. Ga penting banget, bukan???

XL... Antara aku, kau dan Mak Erot

A very attactive, hillarious and funny movie!! Menghibur.. Tapi kayanya kalo ditonton 2 atau 3 kali bisa jadi ngebosenin.

...Deni (Jamie Aditya), seorang pemuda berusia 25 tahun adalah seorang yang lugu dan “lurus–lurus” saja. Sebagai anak tunggal, Deni menurut saja ketika dijodohkan oleh orang tua untuk menikahi Vicky (Dewi Sandra), seorang gadis pilihan orang tuanya. Deni memiliki 2 sahabat baik, Stefan (Erron LeBanG) dan Juno (Alex Abbad). Stefan adalah seorang playboy petualang sedangkan Juno adalah anak dari seorang konglomerat yang mempunyai sifat manja serta gemar berjudi. Demi menolong Deni dalam sebuah masalah, mereka pergi ke Mak Erot (Sarah Sechan) dan singkat cerita disewalah juga Intan (Francine Roosenda), seorang pelacur muda yang cantik.....

Kalo diliat dari pemain2nya, menyenangkan banget bisa liat Jamie Aditya lagi. Terus ada Sarah Sechan juga. Gila lucu bangetttt....

Sebenernya ga ada pesan moral yg bisa diambil dari film ini. Karena, seperti film2 komedi pada umumnya, ya isinya gitu2 doang. Bener2 cuma becanda2 aja dari awal sampe akhir.

Tapi ada 1 scene yg menurut dian cukup touching... Gw suka bgt pas bagian Stefan ketauan sama istrinya kalo dia sewa perek. Sampe istrinya nangis2, bahkan nyoba untuk bunuh diri!!! Menurut gw bagian itu menyentuh banget. Mungkin karena gw cewek kali yah. Temen gw yg nonotn sama gw sampe komentar, "Loe koq kayanya sebel banget sih??" Hehehehe^^ Ah eniwei.... Moral cerita for certain people adalah JANGAN SELINGKUH. I mean it!!!

27 Dresses

What a movie!! Girly bgt. Bapak2 yg duduk di belakang gw tidur, ngorok, kenceng!! Hahaha^^ Terus om2 yg duduk di sebelah sambil makan nachos, abis nachos-nya abis, dia kayanya juga udah ampir ketiduran. Oki... Kayanya kalo ga gw ajak ngomong terus (with kalimat such as "Gila bajunya bagus bgt" or "Aih... pengen...") dia juga kayanya udah tidur, hahahaha^^

Eniwei... Have just seen the movie yesterday (28 jan 2008). Buat gw film itu quite nice. Cewek banget, dan impian semua wanita lah... Bisa dikejar sama cowok keren, happy ending story... Semacam itu lah. Secara gw ga pernah jadi bride's maid atau maid of honour, jadi gw sedikit menyimpan rasa sirik karena that lady jadi bride's maid 27x bow.... gila apa!! Mana bajunya lucu2 banget. ada yg Jepang, Country, dsb dsb... Hahaha^^ Dian ini apa sih!!

Moral of the story.... Berdasarkan hasil diskusi dengan Okky...
1. It's not what kind of wedding you'll have, or what dress you'll wear, or who's the bride's maid is... but the most important thing is, who is the guy waiting for you on the end of the aisle, who is looking into your eyes with all of his love *Omigod!!*
2. Rumput tetangga selalu lebih ijo. Di film ini, Tess pengen jadi Jane, hidup dengan kehidupan Jane yg sederhana tapi okeee.... Sementara Jane pengen hidup dengan kehidupan Tess, yg menurut dia ga ada obstacle sama sekali. Tess cantik, populer, semua org suka sama dia, ceria. I find this one quite true. Karena.... berdasarkan pengalaman pribadi, gw selalu memuji dan memuja temen gw, sementara temen gw bilang, hidup dia ga enak, malah dia pengen kaya gw.
